The vintage designs

Every pattern in our shop started life as a knitting pattern from the 1940s to the 1980s. Where we've been able to trace the rights holder, we've bought the rights. Many of these designs were published decades ago by companies and designers who are long gone, and for some, despite searching, we haven't been able to find anyone who still holds the rights.

We take that seriously. If you hold the rights to one of the original designs, we'd like to hear from you.

If you hold the rights to a design

Email us at support@vintagetomodernknits.com and tell us:

• which of our patterns you mean
• the original design (the publication, pattern number and year, if you have them)
• how you hold the rights

We'll take the pattern off sale while we look into it, and reply to you as soon as we can. We'll then either reach an agreement with you or remove the pattern for good.

The patterns, guides and tools we've written, and the text on this site, are © Vintage to Modern Knits. You're very welcome to link to them. Please don't copy them, share the PDFs or sell them. The garments you knit from our patterns are yours to wear, give or sell.
