Choose the size nearest your actual bust measurement. The pattern adds the ease the original design had.
The original: Bulky (chunky), at about 16 sts and 22 rows to 4 in (10 cm) over the pattern. For the closest match to the photo, use a yarn that knits to this gauge. Super bulky yarn isn't offered (the floats get long and the crosses lumpy), and nor is anything finer than heavy DK: the bold confetti texture would shrink to a fine speckle.
Your gauge
This one needs a swatch. Please measure your gauge over the confetti pattern itself, not plain stockinette (the pattern shows you how to knit the swatch). The slipped stitches draw the knitting in. The gauge on a yarn label is measured over plain stockinette, and this stitch pattern knits up differently, so the label won't give you the right size.
This pattern can be written for 14 to 22 stitches per 4 in (10 cm). How to measure your gauge
