Choose the size nearest your actual bust measurement. The pattern adds the ease the original design had.
The original: Two strands of mohair held together, knitting up like a super bulky (super chunky), at about 10 sts and 14 rows to 4 in (10 cm) over stockinette. For the closest match to the photo, use a yarn that knits to this gauge. Only super bulky and bulky (chunky) yarns are offered: in thinner yarn the cape loses its sculpted fullness.
Your gauge Not a swatcher? Most of us aren't! Just enter the gauge printed on your yarn's label (most labels give stitches and rows over 4 in or 10 cm). It's a good starting point, and the pattern gives you measurements to check against as you go. Want it to fit perfectly? Knit a swatch, wash it, let it dry and measure it over stockinette on your main needles, with the yarn (or two strands held together) you'll use for the cape. The original was two strands of brushed mohair held together.
This pattern can be written for 8 to 14 stitches per 4 in (10 cm). How to measure your gauge
